A new FoRCE for Rochester
A new ‘Friends of’ group has been created with the aim of preserving, enhancing and promoting the well-loved Esplanade Park and the adjacent Churchfields slope up to St Margaret’s Church, known locally as ‘Backfields’, for the enjoyment and well-being of residents and visitors alike.
The Friends of Rochester Churchfields and Esplanade (FoRCE) aims to encourage those who have an interest in this historic area to work together to protect and improve opportunities for relaxation, recreation and education. The group will also consult local residents and others on future plans for the Esplanade green spaces, acting as a representative voice, working with Medway Council and other official bodies.
Anyone can get involved in a range of activities from one-hour litter picks to longer-term projects.

Everyone is welcome to join in.
If you’d like to keep up-to-date with how to join in with future events, follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and if you’d like to become a member for free, please email EsplanadeFriends@outlook.com.
