The Dynamites are an up and coming Rugby Wheelchair club that plays rugby League and rugby Union (7’s), utilising both Able and Disabled people of all ages based at The Northfleet Youth Centre, Gravesend Kent. The team has been running for nearly 24 months and are very proud of our achievements due to the hard work of the people connected with the club which has led to on-field success. This has resulted in members of our teams being selected for both the England National Wheelchair 7’s team (Six Nations cup holders), the Barbarians (England 2nd Team) and winners of several slam events. Wheelchair Rugby is unique in that it offers both disabled and non-disabled players of both sexes the opportunity to compete both with and against each other on a level playing field. The sport is unique amongst wheelchair sports in that it is not a derivative but rather is faithful to the rules of the game with tries, conversions and all the other familiar aspects of the game. Wheelchair rugby like the running version is split in to two camps Rugby League and Union, both use an oval ball.The principal object of the Club is to provide facilities for and promote participation by the whole community in sport. We;
- promote, encourage and foster sport for the benefit of all our Members at all levels.
- ensure that sport is played in accordance with the Laws of the Sport and is administered in accordance with the rules of each Governing Body or Union.
- strengthen the bonds between the Club and local community in the areas surrounding the Club
