Job Title:

Assistant Shop Manager

Job Description:

Based at MADM’s Mall Shop, under the direction of the Shop Manager you will help to run the shop and provide cover in the absence of the Shop Manager. Providing a high quality of retail service and undertaking all appropriate duties to ensure the continued operation of the shop and related services.

Key duties will include, but not be limited to:

Key holder for MADM Mall Shop

Opening and closing shop (10am-4pm)

Good customer service, dealing with customers

Cashing up daily takings and organising cash float for each day and overseeing till operations

Responsible for presentation of merchandise keeping tidy, clean and well displayed

Managing volunteers and allocating suitable work duties

Answering the phone

Taking details of donations, collections and completing necessary administration and paperwork

Deliver daily takings to Church Street Shop

Ensure working environment is safe, undertake risk assessments as required and report any hazards

Complete required daily check sheets

Stock administration, sold/paid signs, memos, delivery details

Staff cover as required


Skills/Experience Required:

Customer service skills

Leadership skills and ability to motivate team

Computer literate, good knowledge of Microsoft office

Good communication and numeracy skills

Good organisational skills and eye for detail

Ability to plan, prioritise and manage workload


Job Type (Full/Part Time; Permanent/


Part-time, 2 Days per week, self-employed
