The role itself is one of organiser and comes with a small team of experienced volunteers willing to give up their time in November. The PAO is responsible for the ordering of Stock, managing volunteers and supplying poppies and tins to organisations in the local area. The PAO will also be responsible for organising the counting and banking of the funds raised during Remembrance Tide. Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre allow a collection for a full week in the their Mall where the bulk of the funds are raised. Local Cadets, Scouts and other groups assist with this collection.
The Royal British Legion's support services have never been needed more and increasingly, the support we give is to the Afghan generation of the Armed Forces family - today and for the rest of their lives. If anyone is interested in ensuring Poppies continue to be available in Rainham I would be very happy to have an informal chat with them.
