Sittingbourne Gardeners & Flower Arrangers Society

We are a society of some 120 members and we hold meetings on average every two weeks, usually the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the Month. These alternate between garden lectures and flower arranging. The flower arrangers' evenings also alternate between members' practical evenings and demonstrations by NAFAS and member demonstrators, with a special Christmas demonstration held in November. All meetings are held in the Tunstall Village Memorial Hall, and start at 7.30pm and are for approximately two hours. is the former Bowaters paper mill railway using its original steam locomotives and rolling stock.  Its facilities include a museum, Café, Souvenir Shop and Model Railways. is a vibrant Theatre Company, based at Cleave Warne Hall in Borstal. We are a busy group putting on 6-8 shows a year. In addition to performing published plays we write a lot of our own material, putting on regular Murder Mysteries around the time of the Dickens Festival in Rochester and have taken our work to the Edinburgh Fringe on several occasions. Thomas Clark Quire

Do you enjoy singing or playing music? Are you interested in local history? The Thomas Clark Quire specialises in music written for, and performed in Kentish churches during the 18th and 19th centuries. The Quire meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday evenings of the month, from 8-10pm, at Maidstone Baptist Church, Knightrider Street (through the car park to the rear door). Willington Players

are a small, friendly and sociable group with a professional approach to drama.  We put on two full-length plays annually at the Hazlitt Theatre, Maidstone. Rehearsals are on Mondays and Thursdays at 7.30pm at Downswood Community Center. In addition we also enter the Duncan Rand One-Act Play Festival at the Medway Little Theatre, Rochester each July. Current subscription is £20 per annum and there is a contribution of £1 per evening towards the hire of the rehearsal hall.
